Cancellation and Change Policies
As a small independent property, we ask for your understanding in respecting our cancellation, change and no-show policies. Please read carefully.
If you must change, shorten or cancel your reservation, do so within the timeframe indicated below for a full refund minus the specified change/cancellation fee (per room). If a reservation is cancelled or shortened after the cancellation period expires, the guest is responsible for full payment of the original reservation unless the room is rebooked. Changes or cancellations must be made via phone or email, and you must receive a confirmation email from Cottonwood Street Inn. There are no refunds for early departure.
Inclement Weather Policy: Please understand that we cannot be responsible for inclement weather or other causes for delays and cancellations at your point of origin, or the locations you may connect through when traveling to visit us. We thank you for your understanding! That said, if you do need to cancel we will do our best to rebook your room, and if successful, you will only be charged a $20 rebooking fee.
Rebooking Policy: If a reservation of one to four nights is canceled after the cancellation period expires (see Cancellation Periods and Fees for Stays of 1-4 Nights below), we will attempt to rebook your room as a courtesy to you. If your room is rebooked at the guaranteed rate, your deposit will be refunded minus a $20 rebooking fee. If a reservation of five nights or longer is shortened, changed or canceled after the cancellation period expires (see Cancellation Periods and Fees for Stays of 5 or More Nights below), we will attempt to rebook your room as a courtesy to you. If your room is rebooked for all nights at the guaranteed rate, your deposit will be refunded minus a $50 rebooking fee.
Cancellation Periods and Fees for Stays of 1-4 Nights: There are no change/cancellation fees if a reservation is shortened, changed or canceled at any time up to 7 days immediately preceding your scheduled arrival date. If a reservation is shortened, changed or canceled at any time within the 7 days immediately preceding your scheduled arrival and we are able to rebook your room at the posted rate, your deposit will be refunded minus a $20 rebooking fee. If a reservation is shortened, changed or canceled at any time within the 7 days immediately preceding your scheduled arrival date and we are unable to rebook your room, you are financially responsible for the full cost of the reservation (see policies for Special Event Dates below).
Cancellation Periods and Fees for Stays of 5 or More Nights: If a reservation of five nights or longer is shortened, changed or canceled at any time up to 14 days prior to arrival, your deposit will be refunded minus a $50 rebooking fee. If less than 14 days prior to arrival, you are financially responsible for the full reservation unless room is rebooked (see rebooking policy above).
Holidays and Special Event Dates: Room rates are considered nonrefundable and will be charged at the time of booking. However, should the unexpected occur and you have to cancel your reservation, we will, as a courtesy, attempt to rebook your room. If your room rebooks at the guaranteed rate, you will be refunded for the rebooked night(s) minus a $50 rebooking fee. The following are Special Event dates for 2019: Gold Dust Rodeo June 28-29, Independence Day Celebration July 4, Idaho City Days October 5-6.
Check-in and Check-out: Check-in is between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. If you are arriving later than 5:00 p.m., please notify the innkeeper prior to your arrival so that we can make arrangements to be here. Check-out is 11:00 a.m. We have a small, awesome staff that need time to prepare rooms for arriving guests. If you require more time, a late check-out can sometimes be arranged with prior notification for $25 per hour. Please submit your request prior to your stay.
Credit Card Authorization and Payment: Cash payments are accepted; however, a valid credit card is required to guarantee all reservations. Upon receipt of your reservation request, you will be sent an electronic invoice showing a minimum amount due ($50 per-night for all reservations except Holidays and Special Event Dates as listed above). Upon arrival, the balance due can be paid by cash or credit card. A valid ID must be presented at check-in for credit card payments..
Children: We love kids, but our property is oriented toward responsible adults and not suitable for children. Children over the age of 10 may be considered with prior approval by the innkeeper, but must be accompanied by a parent at all times and must stay in the parent’s room (see also Minimum Age below).
Minimum Age: You must be 18 to rent our property or occupy a guestroom without a parent or legal guardian.
Pets: Though we love animals, we are unfortunately unable to accommodate pets in the guest rooms. No exceptions, sorry.
Damage to Property: Guests are financially responsible for any damage or loss they cause to the property or any fixtures, furniture or other items belonging to the property. Guests may be charged for, or charged cleaning fees for, said damage or loss. Also see “No Smoking, No Candles, No Incense, etc.,” below.
No Smoking, No Candles, No Incense, etc.: The Cottonwood Street Inn is strictly a nonsmoking facility. Smoking is not allowed in any of the buildings, in public outdoor areas or in private outdoor patios and courtyards. Evidence of smoking including the smell of smoke in the room or in the public and private outdoor areas will result in a minimum $250 charge, plus the cost of any damaged property (yes friends, we mean any kind of smoke). No burning of any sort of object including candles or incense is allowed, and no other strongly-scented items are allowed in rooms. All of the above are subject to cleaning and damage fees.
Occupancy: Our guest rooms accommodate single or double occupancy. Because of their size, no more than 2 guests are allowed to stay in any of our rooms. Exceptions to this policy may only be approved by the innkeeper at the time the reservation is made, and prior to arrival. The charge for extra occupants will be $25 per night.
Parking: Off-street parking is available, but limited to one vehicle per room. We are not responsible for damage to vehicles, or damage or loss of property left in parked vehicles, regardless of location.
Parties, Events and Gatherings: We are a small hotel. Please do not come here to party. Guests who disturb other guests or the innkeeper will be asked to leave and will not be provided a refund. Thinking of inviting some friends over? Please check with us first! Due to the intimate nature of our property, private events that include guests not staying at the property require approval. Additional fees may apply. No parties, group gatherings, company meetings, etc., may be held without prior approval, and may forfeit your reservation without refund.
Quiet Hours: Please show respect for other guests and keep noise to a minimum between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. We are a small hotel. Please do not come here to party. Guests who disturb other guests will be asked to leave and will not be provided a refund.
Phones: We do not provide telephones in the guest rooms because so many guests travel with their own phones. Each room has an outlet with USB ports, and a phone charger may be available upon request. At present, T-Mobile is the only mobile network that consistently works in Idaho City. If your phone can be set to WiFi calling and your phone does not operate on the T-Mobile network, you should plan to use that, or better yet, for a real getaway go OTG!
Rules and Regulations: We try to not have too many of them, and we thank you for reading our policies. We hope you will love every minute of your stay at Cottonwood Street Inn, and we appreciate having you as our guests! We welcome and sincerely appreciate the opportunity to address and correct any concerns or problems — we want your stay to be great. If there is anything we can do to improve our odds of achieving greatness, we hope you will let us know.
